Explore UCC
Students invited to learn about post-secondary options
The 12th annual Explore Event at Umpqua Community College will focus on engineering, cybersecurity, forestry, apprenticeships, automotive, business, welding and more. The event is co-sponsored by Bright Futures Umpqua and the Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub.
The event will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 6 at the UCC Athletics Complex Gymnasium. Douglas County students will have the chance to meet UCC faculty and staff; connect with local employers; visit with representatives from four-year universities; and enjoy free food while meeting new people.
This event gives students the perfect opportunity to explore their post-secondary options, whether they are interested in pursuing college after high school attending a technical school or using their career and technical education experience to enter into the trades.

“It’s vital that students know what options are available to them and receive assistance in determining a pathway that best suits their needs and interests,” said Gwen Soderberg-Chase, director of Douglas County Partners for Student Success. “Events like this are part of a greater effort county-wide to help students better prepare for their futures.”
