Vroom into brain-building

Every baby is born with a brain containing hundreds of billions of neurons. When those cells begin to make connections, a process begins that sets the foundation for learning throughout the child’s lifetime. Parents and caregivers may be daunted at the prospect of shaping a child’s mind — but help is at the ready.

Come learn how to turn everyday moments into brain-building opportunities by attending Launching Daily Vroom. The gathering, hosted by the South-Central Early Learning Hub, is set to take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Douglas Room at Douglas ESD.

Vroom is a research-based app designed to help young brains grow strong and nimble. Early Learning Hub staff members will be available to help parents and caregivers learn how to integrate Vroom into daily routines. There will be a short story-time session as well as distribution of free literacy kits.

Launching Daily Vroom is free and open to all. For more information, contact Gillian Wesenberg at 541-440-4774 or Kat Wolcott at 541-492-6604.
