Scholarship deadlines loom

More than $18 million in free scholarships available; early birds should apply by Feb. 15

Hundreds of scholarship opportunities await students for the coming academic year, all of them free and available through the Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion.

The scholarships are awarded through various criteria, including high school attended, county of residence, college major, GPA and financial need.

A single application, found at oregonstudentaid.gov, gives students access to over 500 scholarship opportunities, including those available through the Ford Family Foundation of Roseburg.

The early bird deadline is Feb. 15. Students who complete applications (including transcripts) by 5 p.m. that date receive an early review. Error-free applications will be entered into a drawing for one of several $1,000 Early Bird scholarship awards.

March 1 is the final deadline for all materials to be submitted to OSAC.
