Here’s a great resource for teachers and other educators on the lookout for workshops, trainings and other professional development opportunities in the region. Go to http://www.douglasesd.k12.or.us/announcementnews/583 to see what’s happening in April and beyond.

Among the upcoming local opportunities are two in Douglas County. One is “Enhancing Teaching and Learning in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Douglas Education Service District. For more informaiton and to register, click here.

Another is a chance for teachers looking to earn some extra money this summer by signing up for summer camps hosted by Umpqua Community College. See the flyer here.

Also, in Eugene, there’s the April 23 Next Generation second annual conference, focusing on “STEM, Standards and Sustainability.” Attendees will learn how to be part of Oregon’s growing Green Education Movement. Registration and information are found here.
