High School Science – Distance Learning Resources

Patterns HS Science – Webinar information and link to register

Would you like help with teaching high school science in a distance learning setting? Portland Metro STEM Partnership is here to help! Please sign up here for opportunities to learn about the resources Portland Metro STEM Partnership has for each course, how to facilitate learning remotely to promote engagement and student success, and how to flexibly and inclusively provide assessment opportunities to students.

Each session will focus on one unit in the second semester of a single course and will include the following topics:

  • A review of the remote learning resources and assessments for the unit of focus for that session
  • Strategies to engage students in the science and engineering practices from home.
  • Strategies to provide formative feedback, as well as flexible and inclusive summative assessments
  • Time for Q&A and collaboration

All webinars will be from 3-4 pm.

• Physics Unit 5 – Thursday 4/23
• Biology Unit 4 (or Unit 5 if there is more interest)- Monday 4/27
• Chemistry Unit 5- Tuesday 4/28

All webinars are FREE and any teacher is welcome to attend.

The webinars are hosted by the Portland Metro STEM Partnership and made possible by a generous STEM Innovation grant from the Oregon Department of Education and the STEM Investment Council.

Teachers can fill out this form one time to sign up for a single course; or sign up for two or all three. After signing up, participants will be sent an invitation to the webinar with the link and instructions a few days before the webinar.
