Making STEAM dreams
come true

The Umpqua Valley STEAM Hub and STEM Oregon are helping to spread the word about Solve for Tomorrow, a competition that aims to promote STEAM in public schools around the US.

Solve for Tomorrow is a contest in which middle and high school teachers lead a class of students in the creation of a solution that addresses a need in their community using Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM).  As an example, one of the winning teams last year came up with a solution to help low-income students who do not have the funds to eat a meal at night.

Contest applicants will have a chance to win a share of $2 million in Samsung technology for their school throughout the competition. More details (including rules) on Solve for Tomorrow contest appear here: www.samsung.com/solve

The final day for applications is Nov. 9.

There are winning prize packages at each round – state winners, state finalists, national winners, national finalists. (Details here: http://www.samsung.com/us/solvefortomorrow/prizes.html. ) All of the prize packages are preselected, with the exception of the national finalist prize, which includes a bundle of preselected products as well as a certain amount that the teacher and school can select based on the school’s need.

One school can have more than one submission, but each submission needs to be under a different teacher and class.
