Bright Works Oregon Healthcare Team Fall Registration
09/21/2015 @ 3:25 PM - 10/09/2015 @ 10:00 PMFREE
Do you know students that would like the opportunity to apply for a live surgical viewing in Portland, OR? Want to be connected to additional education trips related to healthcare and the educational pathway? Would like the opportunity to receive trainings, certifications, and information that would make more employable? Are they passionate about healthcare? Do need to earn service hours? Would they like the opportunity to gain references and letters of recommendation?
The Area Health Education Center of Southwest Oregon (AHECSW) is kicking off our recruitment for students interested in exploring healthcare careers this fall. Students can gain work based learning experiences through this program and they will have the opportunity to participate in hands-on activities. We are going to be offering more trainings and opportunities for students to gain skills and certifications pertinent to becoming a healthcare professional. We also have some great college students that will be working with the program this year to mentor students and answer any questions that they might have about what it really is like to be in college.
If geeking out with science, body parts, and healthcare is their thing, then this program is probably a good fit! Plus they will fit right in with the other students already enrolled! Students also have the opportunity to advance in our programs and apply for internships, job shadows, and leadership positions! Please don’t let them miss out on this great program!
Applications are due 10/9! Program kicks off the week of 10/19! We have two meeting sites established in the Roseburg and Winston area. If students would like to apply now they can go here: https://www.volgistics.com/ex/portal.dll/ap?ap=1924207667 and then one of our advisors will call them to conduct a brief interview to learn more about their interests and discuss the program. Students that apply this fall will have the opportunity to apply to go up to view a live chest surgery this fall at Providence hospital. A flyer is also attached to this e-mail message.Students can also go to: www.facebook.com/BWODouglasCounty to view some of the activities from the summer and some of the past student projects or go view our blog to read about some of our student experience: http://www.healthyoregon.com/ahec-blog .
